Getting around Derby by bus
There are bus service to all areas of Derby and a large number of destinations in the surrounding area.

Park and Ride
Derby has one Park and Ride site located at Derby Pride Park, Derby Arena, DE24 8BW.
The Park and Ride bus services are Arriva 1A, 1C and Wyvern.
The cost is £3 day and covers up to seven people on one ticket.
If you park regularly, you can save money with a weekly season ticket for £12.
If you have a Gold Card, you can travel for free after 9.30am, however if you use the car park at the Park and Ride facility, parking charges will apply.
You can find timetable and route information on the Arriva website. Search for 'pride park' and select '1/1A/1C Derby to Alvaston' in the dropdown menu, then select 'find services'.
Derby County Football Club home matches may affect operating times. Please check the Arriva website for the most up-to-date information.
Bus operator information
Derby has several main bus operators that run a majority of local services. These are:
A selection of Arriva and trentbarton tickets and other products including timetable leaflets and books are available from the information office at the Bus Station in Derby which is located centrally on the concourse. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm.
Can I catch a National Express Coach from Derby?
National Express Coach Services operate from the bus station in Derby. You can purchase your ticket from the Information Office at the bus station or contact National Express directly.
Please note, National Express coaches have been suspended from Sunday 10th January 2021 until further notice.

b_line travel discount card
b_line is our travel discount and library card for young people aged 11 up to 19. It is for young people in school, college, on training courses or in an apprenticeship providing they live in Derby or Derbyshire. It provides discounted fares on buses and trains
b_line cards are no longer issued automatically. If you would like a card, you will need to apply online. You can also request a replacement card. Before you start your application, please read the instructions at the beginning of the online application to make sure you have everything you need to complete your application.
Derby Bus Station
The bus station is located on Morledge, Derby. There are 24 bays for local bus services and five coach bays. National Express and some holiday tour companies also use the bus station; please check with the holiday coach company where you will be picked up and dropped off. Parking is available in the main Riverside car park or on the roadside in Full Street both of which are only a few minutes walk from the bus station.
There is a Select Convenience store with café facilities inside the bus station as well as an information office, seating and public toilets including disabled facilities.
The information office is located centrally on the concourse and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm. A selection of ARRIVA, yourbus, trentbarton tickets and other products including timetable leaflets and books are also available from the information office.
There are electronic and static information stands situated throughout the concourse and at each bay and toilet facilities are available on site.

Bus stops, shelters and real-time information displays
Please contact us for information regarding:

Service changes and disruptions
The bus companies make changes to the services they operate and are required to give up to 56 days notice before a change becomes effective. They send the details of the changes to the Traffic Commissioners who are responsible for regulating the bus operators and for information to the Council.

Hospital bus services
There are a number of bus services that take patients and relatives to the Royal Derby Hospital and London Road Community Hospital:
- The Royal Derby bus service is provided by the Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and operates between the two sites, between the hours of 6.15am and 9pm from Monday to Friday.

Train information
Derby has direct rail services to a large number of destinations including London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and Cardiff.
The best way to plan your journey by train to or from Derby is to visit the city's travel information website Connected. The following bus services operate from the bus station and city centre and go into the train station forecourt:
- ARRIVA service 1 and 1A - Bay 15 and 16
- KINCHBUS SKYLINK - Bay 7
- Notts & Derby 73 - Bay 23
- Notts & Derby 6 - Operates from Albert Street
The following bus services operate from bay 14 at the bus station and go to the bus stops to the rear of the station on Pride Parkway.

Airport information
The nearest airport is East Midlands Airport at Castle Donington. For travel information, please contact the airport direct. You can plan your journey to and from the airport using the journey planner.
The Skylink bus service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the city centre to East Midlands airport. This bus service also serves Loughborough Swan Street and Leicester St Margarets Bus Station.
You can also connect at East Midlands Parkway train station for journeys to and from Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Lincoln, Sheffield and London.
