Children under 18 will be contacted by phone wherever possible and asked for their parent or guardian's permission to continue the call.
Deaf people can respond to contact tracing calls and SMS/text notifications using 07774 333 412.
You can also contact us using the sign language service.
We will ask you:

- If you live with other people
- Any places you've been recently, such as a workplace or school
- Names and contact details of any people you were in close contact with in the 48 hours before your symptoms started (if you know these details)

All information you provide to Derby City Council's Contact Tracing service is confidential. No one who is contacted as a result of your positive test will be told your identity.
Anyone you have been in close contact with will be told to stay at home (self-isolate) for 14 days by the NHS. This is because it can take up to 14 days for coronavirus symptoms to appear.
If you are required to self-isolate and may struggle financially due to not being able to work, you may be eligible for a grant to help you through the self-isolation period.
You can also find out more about Derby’s Community Hub online or by contacting 01332 640000. Deaf people can contact the Community Hub using 0777 433 341.
