The spring lockdown saw a surge in the number of people joining Derby’s eLibrary. All library members can borrow eBooks and Audiobooks, and read electronic newspapers and magazines for free using apps that you can download to your device. Customers can join the library online to get access to these great services.

Leisure centres and facilities
As Government restrictions change from Mon 12 Apr, Derby Active leisure facilities are reopening including gyms at Derby Arena and Springwood Leisure Centre, and lane and family swimming are available to book at Queen's Leisure Centre. Outdoor bootcamps are talking place at Springwood Leisure Centre and Moorways Stadium is open for Run Pass Track sessions and for FA Affiliated clubs. Remember to book your gym session or swim up to 14 days in advance!
Coaching sessions are also resuming in April including Gymnastic and Learn to Swim. Trampolining and SpringTots are expected to resume in May.

Our Derby Active at Home programme is led by our Health and Wellbeing Advisors, coaches and leisure staff, who want to ensure your fitness and wellbeing is paramount during this uncertain time. The online web and Facebook programme includes daily fitness classes, healthy tips and advice, wellbeing advice, cycling training programmes and bike maintenance. For the kids we have gymnastics, trampolining, Learn to Swim tips, coaching advice and activities to do.

Parks and heritage sites
Fishing will not be permitted during this national lockdown period.

Still water lakes
All angling on Derby’s parks is managed by the Earl of Harrington’s Fishing Club, who have put guidelines in place for it to resume. The guidelines include the requirement for anglers, as is the case with all park users, to practise social distancing.
Please use local parks for your daily dose of the outdoors and follow social distancing guidelines. Stay safe.
