Derby City Council and Derby Homes has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious LGC Awards 2020

DCC’s and Derby Homes’ CB4YS (call before you serve) project, created via Decent and Safe Homes (DASH), has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious LGC Awards 2020 in two categories: Innovation and Housing Initiative.

CB4YS is a free specialist service to help landlords who are having difficulties with their tenants and are potentially considering serving eviction notices, in a bid to prevent homelessness in Derby.

It has been a record year for entries with more than 700 entries so to be shortlisted is a truly remarkable achievement. The shortlisted organisations will now complete presentations and interviews to a specific judging panel made up of senior and influential figures within local government.

LGC editor Nick Golding said:

The councils that have been shortlisted for an LGC Award are among the most innovative – and their innovation helps provide the best services for residents, despite local government facing ongoing financial constraint. The officers and councillors of shortlisted councils deserve enormous credit for thinking of new ways to deliver the best services, ensuring vital services thrive, benefiting everyone who uses them.

The winners of the LGC Awards will then be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 18 March 2020 at Grosvenor House, London.
