Let’s do the right thing for Derby

A new campaign has been launched for the city titled ‘Let’s do the right thing for Derby’, concentrating on promoting safe and considered behaviour during the pandemic.

While we are able currently to visit loved ones, go to pubs and restaurants, there are still vital actions that we can all take to ensure that we remain safe and reduce the risk of catching or passing on the virus.

The campaign is calling for everyone across the city to consider the safety of fellow Derbians by ensuring we follow these important guidelines:

• Keep our distance
• Wash our hands
• Staying home if we have symptoms, and applying for a test
• Wear a face covering, if we can

Let’s do the right thing for Derby looks to boost clear and efficient engagement with citizens by ensuring guidelines are clear and prominently available throughout the city.

Working closely with stakeholders, businesses and schools to promote messages, the campaign is ultimately to try and keep transmission and positive COVID-19 cases low in Derby.

Dr Robyn Dewis, Director of Public Health for Derby City Council, said:

It is vital that we all still remember COVID-19 guidance is in place to keep us safe. Particularly as we move into the winter months, and we are all more likely to be indoors rather than meeting friends and family outside, our hygiene and distancing from others will become even more important. Our actions have the power to help protect our friends, family and loved ones, and we can all do our bit by making sure we keep our distance and remember to wash our hands. This is our best way of keeping transmission of the virus as low as possible within the city.
