Across the United Kingdom, the cost of living is steadily increasing.

To help people with the cost of living, Derby City Council has partnered with Community Action Derby, and Derby Homes to create an online hub with advice and support about dealing with the cost of living.

Across the United Kingdom, the cost of living is steadily increasing. The rising cost of energy, food and bills means that keeping up with payments can be a struggle for many. As winter approaches, we understand that living expenses will rise even more.

The new hub has been created to offer as much advice as possible to those in Derby who may need it during this time. A phone number has also been launched, to support those who would like to access free advice. You can call 01332 346266 Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 4pm to speak to a member of the Community Action Derby team.

The hub has been divided into sections for ease of access to information.

Those sections are:

Each section has useful information, guidance and advice that may help with a cost of living related problem. Phone numbers and webpage links to other services across Derby and the UK that may be able to help should you need more information on a specific issue are also available.

Councillor Jonathan Smale, Cabinet Member for Finance, Digital and Culture, said:

As the cold winter months get closer, the impact of the rising cost of living will be felt more now than before. This increase can be felt by everybody. The Council, Derby Homes, and Community Action Derby have come together to create this new hub so that we can offer support and guidance to those who are struggling.

Whether you are struggling with childcare, debt, bills or rent, we have ensured that there is useful information that may be able to help with your problem. I would encourage anyone who is struggling during this time with the increased cost-of-living to visit the webpage and find advice and support.”

Kim Harper, CEO of Community Action Derby, said:

The website is a fantastic example of what we can accomplish working together, maximising our collective reach and support.  There is lots of information on the site on what is available and how to access this.  We recognise that it is a great resource and it will be accompanied by leaflets and a wider campaign across Derby to ensure that our community is able to access as much support as is available in these challenging times.”

We would like to thank Community Action Derby and Derby Homes for partnering with us on the creation of this webpage. If you are struggling with the cost of living or believe that you may struggle in the coming months, visit the webpage to see what help is available for you.
