Uttoxeter Old Road Resurfacing Update

Work on the Roadside NO2 project is running to schedule.  The next stage which involves resurfacing Uttoxeter Old Road is due to take place from 5 to 25 July prior to the start of the school summer holidays. The work will be completed in five phases starting where Uttoxeter Old Road meets Uttoxeter New Road.  

Disruption will be minimised as much as possible but there will be necessary diversions in place for further details please see below. There will be advanced warning signs in place and the diversion routes will be clearly signed.

Phase 1, 3, 4 and 5 - Work on Uttoxeter Old Road from Slack Lane, including Ashbourne Road, and Friar Gate in phases

• Diversion route A: Ashbourne Road - Friar Gate - Bridge Street - Agard Street - Ford Street - Stafford Street - Uttoxeter New Road.
• Diversion route B: Uttoxeter New Road - Stafford Street - Friar Gate - Ashbourne Road - Uttoxeter Old Road.
• Diversion route C: Great Northern Road.

Phase 2 - Work on Uttoxeter Old Road, from its junction with Junction Street to its junction with Slack Lane

• Diversion route A: Ashbourne Road - Friar Gate - Bridge Street - Agard Street - Ford Street - Stafford Street - Uttoxeter New Road.
• Diversion route B: Uttoxeter New Road - Stafford Street - Friar Gate - Ashbourne Road - Uttoxeter Old Road.

Other planned works

Changes to the traffic signal junctions at Ashbourne Road / Uttoxeter Old Road / Brick Street and Friar Gate / Bridge Street

• Works are planned for implementation in winter 2021.

Changes to the roundabout junction at Stafford Street / Curzon Street/Uttoxeter Old Road / Mercian Way:

• Works are planned for implementation in winter 2021.
