Friday 15th November
Despite the wet weather over the last few weeks, works are progressing well, and are forecast to be complete on time and within budget. We are currently about half way through the final phase working our way up Cemetery Hill towards the junctions of Cumberland Avenue and Wiltshire Road.
On Thursday 21st November, between 9.30am and 3.30pm the junction of Beaufort Street and Nottingham Road will be closed to through traffic. This closure will allow our contractors to carry out some minor surfacing remedial works. All other traffic management on this day will remain the same as currently and access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
The bus services will not be running on Nottingham Road between Pentagon Island and Beaufort Street during this time, so please contact your local bus operator for advice on alternative routes.

We have now completed week one of the programme and everything is on track. This included a level survey and ground radar survey, excavating the existing concrete bus lay-by opposite Wayzgoose Drive and started planning out the carriageway between Pentagon Island and Wayzgoose Drive ready for resurfacing. We also installed several new gullies and replaced a number of ironwork covers.
This week we will continue to plane out the carriageway between Pentagon Island and St Marks Road, replacing covers and installing new gullies.
All businesses and shops along Nottingham Road are open as usual. The best way to access these businesses currently is to come down Nottingham Road from the Spondon end.
