Derby City Council has made these Traffic Regulation Orders on 22nd June 2023, which come into effect on 26th June 2023 under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III if schedule 9 to the 1984 Act.
The purpose of the Orders will be to introduce:
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) No Loading (At Any Time) (Restricted Zone)
- Colyear Street – all of Colyear Street
- Springwell Square – all of Springwell Square
- Becket Well Lane –starting approximately 14m from the junction with Macklin Street
Proposed Disabled Badge Holders Only (3 Hours No Return 1 Hour)
- St James’ Street – extend existing disabled parking bay by 10m towards The Strand as marked on site
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time)
- Macklin Street – 21m adjacent to 80 Macklin Street and 5m off the junction with Becket Well Lane, opposite 29 Macklin Street
- Becket Well Lane – small sub-station pull-in off the junction with Macklin Street as marked on site
Proposed Loading Only (At Any Time)
- Becket Well Lane – 15m on the east side of the road adjacent to Springwell Square where it meets Becket Well Lane
Proposed One way for all motor vehicles, exemption 1
- Colyear Street – traffic flow to travel from Macklin Street towards Springwell Square and Becket Well Lane
Proposed Prohibition of entry for motor vehicles, exemption 1
- Colyear Street – where it meets Springwell Square
Revocation of Disabled Badge Holders Only (At All Times)
- Macklin Street – 21m adjacent to 80 Macklin Street
Revocation of Disabled Badge Holders Only (3 Hours No Return 1 Hour)
- Colyear Street - all existing bays
- Becket Well Lane – all existing bays
Revocation of Pay and Display (Max 2 Hours Mon-Sat 8am-8pm Sun 10am-4pm) (Permit Holder Exemption)
- Colyear Street – existing bay on east side of the road
- Macklin Street – 2 bays off the junction with Becket Well Lane
Revocation of No Waiting (At any Time) (Except Taxis 8pm-3am) Revocation
- Colyear Street – existing bay on west side of the road
Revocation of No Waiting (At Any Time)
- St James’ Street – 10m from existing disabled parking bay towards The Strand
- Colyear Street – all existing No Waiting (At Any Time) restrictions
- Becket Well Lane - all existing No Waiting (At Any Time) restrictions
Revocation of One Way for all vehicles
- Becket Well Lane – from where it meets Colyear Street to the junction with Macklin Street
Copies of the Orders and a copy of the Authority’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders, may be inspected on this page.
Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Orders on the grounds that they are outside the powers of the Acts or because they do not comply with any requirement or regulations made under them, may, within six weeks of the date of the Orders, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
