Feedback

The Family Hub Have Your Say survey is a way for you to let us know what you think about the services and the staff. Your feedback is so important because it will inform what new services maybe required and how staff can be trained. We want Family Hubs to best work for Derby families.

Volunteering

Family Hub currently has opportunities for volunteers to work alongside our experienced play team delivering sessions to support child development through play.

How volunteering can help you:

  • gain new skills
  • build confidence
  • share your existing skills
  • improve employability.

What volunteering will include:

  • helping to set up groups and activities
  • supporting the play worker with session plans
  • interacting with parents and children in the group
  • encouraging children and parents to take part in activities
  • tidying up after the group
  • assisting the play worker with evaluating the session.

How you will be supported:

  • reflective discussions
  • peer mentor
  • supportive supervision every 6 weeks
  • access to in-house training and development.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact Lisa Sandercock by email at lisa.sandercock@derby.gov.uk or telephone 01332 956967.

You said We did
You said it was difficult to find what’s on at each Family Hub We branded images for each location adding them to the link for each What’s On Guide
Online booking would be really nice if possible Coming soon - 2025
PEEP sessions have been a great opportunity and I'd love more activities like this locally Now delivering in libraries to increase local availability
New things and toys needed Ordered some new resources including treasure baskets
More sessions that are more accessible in the Sunnyhill or Blagreaves area Additional activities at Blagreaves Library including Ready for School workshops and PEEP taster sessions
Bring back messy play Messy play to be run from Derwent Family Hub from January 2025
I wasn't sure if the hotdogs were Halal. My kids don't eat cheese as milk allergy. Halal or vegetarian options Moving forward there will be a healthy vegetarian snack rather than a hot meal
I would like to go to a baby sensory group, but I can't afford the ones in the local area Delivered a free baby exploration session (sensory) at Derwent Family Hub over the summer
Few more groups and activities for over 10s Over 10 year old activities are available in the evenings and now during the holidays
