Pay your Council Tax
There are a number of ways to pay your Council Tax.
Pay by Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the easiest and most convenient way to pay your Council Tax.
You can spread your payments over 10 or 12 months. You can also choose which day or week of the month to make your payment. We offer payment dates of 1st, 10th, 15th, 25th or 28th of each month or weekly every Friday.
With myAccount, you can also:
- check your balance
- switch to paperless billing
- apply for a discount or exemption
- make a payment arrangement
- apply for an exemption or discount.
Pay online with a debit or credit card
You can pay by credit or debit card, 365 days of the year, 24/7 using our online payment service.
You will need:

There are no fees when using a credit card.
Bacs or standing order
You can pay by Bacs or standing order.
You will need:

Sort code: 30 92 59
Reference: Council Tax account number
If you pay by standing order, please update your bank or building society with any changes.
PayPoint
You can pay your Council Tax bill at any PayPoint outlet. PayPoint outlets are located in newsagents, supermarkets, garages and off-licences. You can search for your nearest collection point on the PayPoint website.
You will need the barcode on your Council Tax bill. We recommend that you ask for a receipt when you make a payment.
By telephone
You can pay by credit or debit card, 365 days of the year using our 24 hour automated payments service on telephone 0345 600 1982.
