Designated Teacher Network Meetings
The Virtual School provides Designated Teacher Network Meetings once a term.
We will be holding our next network meeting towards the end of the year, please check back for a confirmed date.

Online training
The Derby Virtual School runs various training opportunities for teachers, social workers, carers and any other key adults looking to support looked after children.
As a Virtual School, we run AC Education Online Training Programs. If you are interested in finding out about any of these courses, email: elizabeth.williams@derby.gov.uk.
The courses are open to relevant staff in your school. The training courses vary in length however most last between two hours and a full day. You won't have to sit down for the whole course, it is a very flexible system.
We also offer an 8-module Attachment and Trauma eLearning course:
- Module 1: Rationale and Context
- Module 2: ACEs and Understanding Stress
- Module 3: The Attainment Gap
- Module 4: Behaviour as Communication
- Module 5: Importance of Relationships
- Module 6: Responding to Distressed Behaviour
- Module 7: Regulation for the Adults
- Module 8: Relational Repair

Face-to-face training
7 Day Trauma and Attachment - this higher education accredited course is open to schools. The course aim is to train staff to become attachment leads within schools. See the course brochure for details. If you would like to express an interest in your school being involved, contact graeme.ferguson@derby.gov.uk.
