Derby City Council has announced work has begun on a series of new grants for businesses affected in different ways by the new COVID alert level 'Very High' (Tier 3) restrictions.
Whilst the details are still being worked on there will be different grants for those businesses that are required to stay closed and those businesses who have been allowed to begin trading again but can still demonstrate they are being affected by the measures.
The new schemes are due to be launched on Monday 14th December.
The current schemes operating, the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) and the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG), which have been in place through the national measures during November, will remain open until Friday 11th December. If you are eligible for support under these grants and have not yet applied then please visit our business financial support section before 5.00pm on Friday 11th December.
Businesses who have already applied to the LRSG or the ARG are urged not to apply a second time but to wait until the new schemes are launched. Payments made through the new schemes will be backdated to cover from the launch of Tier 3 restrictions on Wednesday 2nd December.
Councillor Nicola Roulstone, Cabinet Member for Finance and Procurement said:
Once again our back-office teams are working hard to set up and manage what is a complex process in a very short time. Combining technology and resources to ensure that eligible businesses get the right support in a timely and efficient way
I’d again like to thank the businesses of Derby for their grit and determination through what has been the most difficult year.
Like all of you I’m heartened by news that a vaccine is almost ready to roll out and can assure you all that we will keeping fighting to support local businesses until we can return to a more familiar life.
