Changes to safety measures in Derby Bus Station

Social distancing markers will remain in place, and both the Morledge and River Gardens entrance/exit doors will be separated to one way in and one way out.  However, the coach bay door will continue to be exit only due to the limited amount of space around Bay 24.

The public toilets will also reopen from Monday, and will initially be free of charge, with enhanced cleaning and monitoring, and social distancing measures put in place.

It is also expected that from Wednesday 7th October, the Information Office will reopen, but only two customers will be permitted at any one time.  The hours of opening are Monday to Friday from 8.30am – 5.30pm and 8.30am – 1.00pm on Saturdays.

The new measures will be reviewed on a regular basis, to ensure the safety of all users.

The bus station will continue to be used as a pick-up point only, and services coming back into the city will drop off passengers at on-street bus stops.  Passengers are reminded to ensure social distancing at all times, when leaving the bus onto the street.

Passengers are also reminded that face coverings must be worn in the bus station and whilst travelling on public transport, and to not travel at all if they are feeling unwell, or if they have had coronavirus symptoms in the last 14 days.

I am pleased that we have been able to extend facilities and operations within the bus station, whilst ensuring that appropriate measures remain in place to assist with social distancing.   I would like to remind all passengers and visitors to the bus station to maintain good hand hygiene, wear a face covering, and keep adequate space between fellow passengers at all time.
