More events have now been added to the great line-up of shows and attractions at the Derby Loves You temporary venue at Derby Market Place.

Talks, poetry, and musical experiences will be among the latest additions to an already exciting programme, that includes al fresco dining and markets, meaning there’s something or everyone.

Tyler Butterworth will take the audience back in time to the golden age of British TV and film with classic film and TV clips, photographs, and a Q&A in his A Bit of a Carry On show on Wednesday 15 September. The Darling Buds of May actor will tell the stories of his parents, TV impressionist Janet Brown and Carry On star Peter Butterworth. Tickets cost £16.

As part of Derby Peace Week visitors can join a fabulous celebration of the diverse communities in Derby through music and dance. On Thursday 23 September, Beatwirks will start things off with a bang with their samba reggae ban, followed by a musical around-the-world trip from DJ Su-Ki. There will also be the chance to learn some African rhythms on djembes, and some pulsating dance steps with Njega and Seckou. Tickets are free, but limited, so booking is essential to avoid disappointment.

On Saturday 27 November, The Adele Songbook brings some of the best music from one of our generation’s greatest singer-songwriters with their show Someone Like You. Tickets are £24.

As ever, the safety of the public is our priority, and we will be offering our shows and attractions in line with current Government guidelines. We would recommend you continue to wear a face covering if you are able, particularly inside a venue, and continue to socially distance where possible. Hand sanitiser and washing facilities will also be provided.

Tables for outdoor dining are free until al fresco dining ends on Sunday 24October. Booking is essential to be guaranteed a table or chalet.

After its successful launch last year as an alfresco dining space to boost local independent restaurants and cafes, the Derby Loves You temporary venue is doing the same for the city’s cultural sector.

These new events join the great entertainment already lined up at Derby Market Place over the coming months, including Sensation: ABBA Tribute Show, Classical music and VR experiences all on the menu – as well as Derby Folk Festival, Mainframe Autumn Market and Hallowe’en Quiz Night-mare in October.

Derby Market Place is supported by our media partner, Smooth Radio. Unless specified, all tickets are available online from Derby Market Place or by calling the Sales and Information Centre on 01332 255800.

Full listings for the new shows are below, with more events being added – keep an eye on the Derby Market Place Facebook page for the latest updates.
