To mark the opening of the Derby Market Place marquee on Saturday 26th June, The Mayor of Derby is to host a charity event with performances by the Fairly Famous Family’s “Just In Case” and The Lost Boys.

The event will be hosted by the Lost Boys, Derby’s own double act, who will also bring you ‘The Game of Life: Derby Edition’ whilst Fairly Famous Family’s ‘Just in Case’ is an all-action musical comedy thriller. Two sharp suited performers arrive with five mysterious flight cases. Inside each case is a new comedy adventure such as an unforgettable tribute to The Sound of Music, smashing plate manipulation, circus tricks and a juggling version of Hamlet.

Two performances, which run for 45 mins, are on sale from the Derby Market Place website for the shows at 2.00pm and 8.00pm on Saturday 26th June for £5.00, £2.50 for under 16s. There will also be an invited guest only performance at 5.00pm.

As ever, the safety of the public is our priority in our COVID-secure space, and the shows are currently on sale with social distancing in place, awaiting further Government guidance.

Derby Market Place is supported by our media partner, Smooth Radio. More information is on the Derby Market Place website, with more events being added - so keep an eye out for updates. Tickets are available from derbylive.co.uk or by calling the Sales and Information Centre on 01332 255800.

The Alfresco Dining Experience is also available at Derby Market Place from 12 noon to 3.00pm every day, and from 6.00pm to 9.00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, even when shows are running.

Mayor of Derby, Cllr Robin Wood said:

I’m delighted to be able to launch the Derby Market Place marquee with this special Charity event to raise money for Disability Direct.

The Lost Boys are Derby favourites having performed many times in the city and I’m delighted to welcome the Fairly Famous Family to Derby for what I’m sure will be sell out shows.

Please do come out and support us.
