The Household Support Fund provides financial support for vulnerable households in most need of support to help with significantly rising living costs.

Since its launch, the Fund has made thousands of one-off payments for food or fuel for households receiving benefits and who can demonstrate financial hardship.

The scheme is available until 30 September 2022 or until funding is fully used, households could be eligible for a one-off award of:

-          £120 for a household with children aged 18 or under when the application is made

-          £100 for a couple with no children

-          £80 for a single person

Awards are made in the form of vouchers which can be spent at selected supermarket chains, details of which can be found on our website.

Derby City Council are encouraging all residents who think they may be eligible to apply as soon as possible.

If you are

  • on a qualifying benefit and
  • have not received an award from this scheme
  • able to demonstrate financial hardship on the application.

Apply online now at Household Support Fund whilst there is funding available.

Residents will need to complete the Income and Expenditure section of the form and provide proof of benefits as well as an up-to-date bank statement.

Councillor Jonathan Smale, Cabinet Member for Finance, Digital and Culture said:

“We know that households will struggle with the increase in the cost of living, that’s why it’s so important to apply as soon as possible. We hope that the Household Support Fund may be able to assist families with the cost of food and energy bills.”

Earlier in the year, the Council set up a whole city approach to supporting our citizens, made up of key partners from the Council, Health, DWP, voluntary and community sector. You can find more support and advice on the cost of living here.
