As we draw closer to our highly anticipated weekend celebration of all things Folk, we have released our day tickets to give even more people the opportunity to experience the festival.

Derby Folk Festival is back for its 16th year and will be dancing and singing its way to Derby Market Place, The Old Bell Hotel and Derby Cathedral between Friday 30 Sep – Sunday 2 Oct. This year’s festival is promised to be another huge event, jam packed full of folk goodness for music lovers across the country to come together to enjoy.

In association with Bob On Arts, we are bringing you music from lots of talented Folk artists throughout the weekend. Friday evening will see Treacle City Dance Band and Winter Wilson in the Old Bell Hotel whilst the Market Place marquee (The Mick Peat Stage) will have concerts from Lady Nade and Sound of the Sirens, – introduced by local festival patron, Lucy Ward. Friday afternoon will also see From Pub to Pulpit at Derby Cathedral; a celebration of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ 150th anniversary – tickets for this event can be purchased separately which are only £5 when added to a weekend ticket, or £12 before 31 Jul with the early bird offer.

Giving you the weekend vibes on Saturday is Marc Block who will kickstart the day, along with our various Fringe music events in The Old Bell Ball Room. Later in the day, Old Sea Legs, Granny’s Attic, The Carrivick Sisters, The Pitmen Poets, Janice Burns & Jon Doran, Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage and Bob Fox & Billy Mitchell will take to the various stages. Saturday festivities will end with headliners Spiers & Boden on The Mick Peat Stage.

The final day of the festival, Sunday 2 Oct will see a second chance to see Janice Burns & Jon Doran; this time at The Old Bell Ball Room. The highly anticipated show about Nell Gwynne - “Nelly” featuring Robb Johnson and Winter Wilson will be performed on The Mick Peat Stage along with Jez Lowe, Narthen, and headliners Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman. Elsewhere, there will be a second chance to see Old Sea Legs, as well as Robb Johnson at The Old Bell Ballroom. Baggaley & Varnam will perform on both stages.

If a particular day has taken your fancy, we are now offering individual day tickets to the festival. Adult tickets are £20 for Friday evening, or £40 for Saturday or Sunday. Concessions for Saturday and Sunday day tickets are £20 for under 16s and under 5s are free. If we’ve tempted you to give the whole festival a go, weekend tickets are also available for £85 until the end of Jul. Concessions are available along with Family tickets.

Alongside the early bird discount to customers who purchase their Folk Festival weekend tickets before 31 Jul, anyone doing so will be entered into a prize draw, with the winner having the price of a ticket refunded! These prices are automatically applied at checkout and will increase to full price after 31 Jul. The early bird offer means that weekend tickets are currently £85 for adults and family tickets are £200 – child tickets are the same price.
