Derby City Council has a new website to help people access information about Adult Care services in the city. The My Care Directory contains a wealth of information to make it easier to find care and support in Derby.
The website contains details of organisations including businesses, service providers and third sector organisations that offer services within the city. It provides all the necessary information to allow people to locate and contact individual services that best suit their requirements.
From support to help people stay independent and care in the home to details about residential and nursing homes – everything can be found in one place. The directory also contains information about personal assistants, services for carers, support with health and wellbeing and training. It will continue to grow to reflect the most up-to-date content about the breadth of care and support services available.
Councillor Alison Martin, Derby City Council's Cabinet Member for Integrated Adult Care and Health, said:
The My Care Directory is a great resource for people who are unsure where to look for information they need about any aspect of adult care in Derby.
We hope having a central point from which to access details of care and support will make things easier to navigate during what can be a challenging time in peoples’ lives.
The My Care Directory has a search function to help find nearby services, or users can choose to browse by category. The categories are:
- Helping you to stay independent
- Health and wellbeing support
- Support from Adult Social Care
- Local area coordination
- Care in your home
- Residential and nursing care homes
- Joined Up Care Derbyshire services
- Personal assistants
The directory also features a section on training for private, independent and voluntary organisations.
Information on home care agencies and residential homes comes from the Care Quality Commission, which is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.
The inclusion of services in the My Care Directory does not constitute a recommendation, advice or endorsement by the Council.
