Derby City Council is inviting local residents to have their say on where people will cast their vote at future elections. A consultation on proposed changes to polling arrangements across the city is now open. Residents can respond online by visiting the Let’s Talk Derby website.

The review, which is required by law, aims to ensure that polling places are convenient and accessible to voters. Full details of the proposals are available on the Let's Talk Derby website, along with a questionnaire where people can submit their views.

Emily Feenan, Returning Officer for Derby said:

"We want to make sure that polling places are suitable for all voters, including those with disabilities, and located as conveniently as possible. This review is an important opportunity for us to get public input on whether any changes are needed."

The consultation will run until Sunday 31 December. Feedback will help inform the council's final recommendations before new polling district boundaries and polling places are implemented in February 2024.

Residents who would have difficulties accessing their proposed polling place are particularly encouraged to comment. Suggestions for alternative venues to be considered as polling stations are also welcome.
