Derby City Council, with partners Compendium LivingRiverside, Lovell, Homes England and D2N2 have officially opened the doors to the show apartment and viewhome on the third phase of the popular Castleward development.

Located in Derby city centre between Derbion shopping centre and Derby Midland Station, Castleward is a £100 million regeneration scheme and one of the city’s largest housing projects, being built by Compendium Living’s construction partner Lovell. In total, 800 new homes are being provided, alongside green open space and 35,000 square feet of commercial retail space.

The newly-launched third phase of Castleward will consist of 82 properties, including 55 for open market sale through Compendium Living and 27 affordable homes for Riverside.

Cllr Nadine Peatfield, Cabinet Member for City Centre, Regeneration, Culture and Tourism, and Bruce Lister, Managing Director of Compendium Living, recently cut the ribbon to the two-bedroom show apartment, situated in Suede House, and the two-bedroom The Dixon style viewhome.

All those present were then given the opportunity to tour the show apartment and viewhome, and see the excellent progress on this phase of development.

The show apartment and viewhome were also launched to the public, with property seekers now able to visit the development, meet with the sales team and find out more about the first release of homes.

To support the launch of sales at the development, Compendium Living has also launched a brand-new webpage specifically for Castleward. The new page has been designed to make the start of the homebuying journey easier for new buyers, with an interactive site plan and live booking calendar for people to book appointments online.

Councillor Peatfield said:

It's great to see more progress continuing at Castleward. This is a major regeneration project for Derby, providing an attractive and welcoming gateway to the city centre, alongside education facilities, retail space and high-quality accommodation.

This is a key area of the city with a lot of potential, and we're delighted to celebrate this milestone with our partners and look forward to working with them to deliver future phases of this new community.

Bruce Lister said:

We are very proud to have officially opened the third phase of Castleward with our partners. This regeneration scheme demonstrates the benefits partnership working brings the local economy and community, as it is revitalising an underused area and offering a variety of high-quality homes.

At Compendium Living, we are hugely invested in Derby and in transforming the former brownfield site of Castleward into an exciting, sustainable community where people can be proud to live and work. Castleward is a very important project for us, and we are thrilled to have celebrated this milestone with our partners.
