Derby Market Hall has a packed lineup for spring 2026, bringing a huge variety of culture, community vibes and entertainment. From unique artisan markets to live music, there’s something for everyone.
Derby’s St George’s Day celebrations are almost upon us and the Market Hall will be in on the action. Join us for free family-friendly shield making and AVP Theatre’s puppet show on Saturday 25 April – and don’t miss the rest of the fun on the Market Place and Cathedral Quarter.
That leads into a busy May, kicking off with Derby Dream Fest on Saturday 2 May. The Derby Promise event will bring the West End to Derby’s children and young people, with free performances, workshops and advice about careers in the arts.
If you're a fan of the stage, stick around that same evening for an unforgettable evening of show-stopping musical theatre, A Night at the Musicals, just one highlight of the free live music every single week at the Market Hall. Any soul fans should also make sure to clear their calendars for the Northern Soul & Motown Night on Saturday 23 May, with DJ Jack Stevenson.
On Saturday 9 May, the Market Hall will host a Polish Heritage Day, a celebration of Polish culture, community, and entrepreneurship. The free event will combine a fashion show, live music, games, childrens activities and local Polish initiatives and businesses.
The Indie Crafters Carnival will be causing a stir on Saturday 23 May. It will showcase the very best independent crafters and creatives, all wrapped up in a playful circus theme that promises fun for all the family. Expect unique stalls from talented indie makers and craft activities for all ages, amid carnival and circus-inspired décor and entertainment Interactive craft activities for children and adults. Expect some surprises along the way!
The Market Hall is a space for everyone to feel welcome, and on Wednesday 27 May (during half term), we’re hosting a SEND Friendly Market Day. It will be a welcoming, inclusive drop-in event for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), alongside their families and carers.
Half term will also feature a selection of family-friendly workshops – all the details will be on the Derby Market Hall website.
Later that week, check out the Derby Young Traders Market on Saturday 30 May to see what the city’s next generation of entrepreneurs is up to. Then, on Sunday 31 May, The Derby Makers Market will feature a diverse range of products and a vibrant shopping experience.
June is looking great for fans of a good drink and a bit of nostalgia. We’ve got the Craft Beers, Wines & Spirits Festival showcasing independent brewers, vintners and distillers from Friday 12 June to Sunday 14 June with Derby Uncovered.
Also with Derby Uncovered, as well as Vintage and Vinyl, the Vintage Fair is happening Saturday 20 June and Sunday 21. It will be a celebration of collecting, nostalgia and style, where collectors, dealers and independent traders combine to share remarkable finds from across the decades. And for something completely different, don't miss the Aspire Wrestling live show on Saturday 27 June, featuring former Total Nonstop Action/Ring of Honour superstar ‘The Wonderkid’ Jonny Storm.
As we head into July, Artisans Uncovered returns on Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July with the very best of Derby and Derbyshire creatives, makers and artists.
Plus, we’ve got our regular favourites like Monthly Karaoke, Open Mic Nights, and Farmers Markets to keep the hall buzzing.
