Residents are invited to join this year's Remembrance Sunday commemorations and pay their respects on Sunday 8 November 2026. The whole service will be interpreted in British Sign Language (BSL). From 10.45am, members of local veteran, cadet and youth organisations will parade through the city centre onto the Market Place.

A short service led by the Very Rev'd Dr Peter Robinson, Dean of Derby, is scheduled for 10.55am, during which a two-minute silence will be observed at 11am. Wreaths will then be laid at the War Memorial by Civic dignitaries and representatives from local organisations.

Dedicated viewing areas will be available on the Market Place for members of the public, and the service will also be streamed onto a large screen. The Order of Service is available to Remembrance Day 2026 Order of Service.

Before the parade arrives, Surtal Arts, a Derby-based South Asian arts organisation, will perform a medley of patriotic songs on the Market Place from 10.15am. At 10.35am, the head teacher from the Royal School for the Deaf Derby (RSDD) will lead a public participation session, inviting the congregation to watch, learn and practise the British Sign Language (BSL) signs for the Remembrance poem, "We Will Remember Them". Following the official wreath laying, RSDD pupils will take their positions to perform the poem in BSL.

Members of the public will also have a chance to pay their respects to those who lost their lives during a short service held at the War Memorial at 11am on Armistice Day (Wednesday 11 November).
