About highways

Derby City Council's Highways Services undertake the highway maintenance of approximately 797km of roads and 1,195km of footways worth over £1.2billion.

The service is based centrally within Derby to enable quick response times, and uses permanently employed local qualified and highly skilled staff members. They provide a wealth of experience and have a reputation for delivering cost effective, efficient and reliable services every day.

As well as maintaining Derby City Council's Highways assets, we provide these services to Derby Homes, Derby University, local hospitals, Derby County Football Club and other organisations within Derbyshire.
