The Council has worked with GP practices, Southern Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Royal Derby Hospital, Mental Health Trust, East Midlands Ambulance Service and dentists, to ensure patient registration for personnel leaving the armed forces is straightforward and their often-complex needs are understood.

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) is one of many NHS organisations signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant and has received accreditation awarded by the Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA). It has also been awarded Gold Employer Recognition Scheme Status. UHDB also has a dedicated Armed Forces Covenant Manager.
