About the Council

Just over 5,000 people work for the Council, making it one of the largest employers in the city.

The jobs they do range from social work to teaching Derby's children to engineering, lawyers, surveyors and environmental health officers.

The Council is led by Chief Executive Paul Simpson and is split into three directorates:
