Community climate actions
Local community and interest groups have a big part to play in helping to bring about the change needed to tackle climate change. They have lots of energy and expertise and also have the ability to challenge and to lobby organisations to do more, including the Council.
Community Climate Forum
In recognition of the above, we have set up the Community Climate Forum with the Derby Climate Change Coalition to engage with local groups and to work with them more effectively. The forum meets every two months and is chaired independently of the Council. The overall aim is to provide a forum for open and constructive dialogue between the Council and local groups and individuals to ask questions and seek opportunities for collaboration. Anyone wishing to join this group should email climate.change@derby.gov.uk.
