Call for sites
Between 10 August and 30 October 2020 we carried out a call for sites, asking local residents, businesses, landowners and developers to identify potential sites for development which could help meet the City’s housing and employment needs.
We are now analysing the information gathered which we will use to update our existing information on housing and employment land availability and compile a new Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) for the city.
If you still wish to put forward a potential site for development but have missed the October 2020 deadline you can still complete a call for sites response form. We will continue to accept new sites but these will be included in future SHELAA updates.
Please note that identifying sites does not guarantee they will be included in future development plans or given planning permission.
The assessment we carry out identifies sites which have the 'potential' for development. We will then consider the relative suitability of suggested sites, taking into account any constraints including the likely impact of any development on the environment.
The outcome of the assessment will be made publicly available and the intention is that the assessment will be updated periodically.
