Do I need a permit?
If you are collecting money for a charity or holding an event for charity you will need to obtain the necessary permits and permissions.
A street collection is where you are collecting money for a charity or organisation in a public place.
Street collection permits are issued in relation to the street collection regulations issued by Derby City Council.
How much do street collection permits cost?
Street collection permits are provided free of charge.
How long do street collection permits take to be issued?
Street collection permits can take up to one month to be issued after an application form has been submitted.
Permit conditions
- You can only have one street collection permit each year.
- There is to be a maximum number of 15 people collecting at anyone time.
Fines and penalties
If you collect money for charity without a permit or do not adhere to the street collection regulations you could be fined £200.
