About on-street parking
We have several types of on-street parking in Derby including:
- pay and display bays
- limited waiting bays
- disabled parking bays.
Our on-street pay and display parking is split into two different types – inner and outer city parking.
In the city centre, we offer a 2 hour maximum stay. On the outskirts of the city centre, we offer a 4 hour maximum stay.
You have the option of buying another pay and display ticket when your ticket expires.

Inner city parking
A two hour maximum stay applies.

Outer city parking
There is a standard 4 hour maximum stay from Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm for outer city parking. However, there are several locations in Derby that have custom parking charges, this information can be found below.

How to apply for a season ticket
When you buy your season ticket online, you will receive a digital permit. This means that you do not need to display anything in your vehicle. You simply pay and go.

Motorcycles
Motorcycles are allowed two hours of free parking in any pay and display bay in Derby.
You may also park your motorcycle in any permit holders bay for an unlimited amount of time with the exception of disabled bays.
Solo motorcyclists are also entitled to free parking in any of the Council-owned Surface level car parks.
Please note, any bicycle racks across the city are for push bikes only and you may receive a Penalty Charge Notice for pavement parking if you use them for parking a motorcycle.
