Parking permit prices
Each year the Council must produce a Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP) with a balanced budget which details how and where it’s finances will be spent on the public services it provides. The public consultation for the proposals ended on 26 January 2023 and was approved by Full Council on 2 March, 2023. Included in the MTFP was the decision to conduct a review of residents parking, last reviewed in 2007. This means that we must implement the agreed proposal in order to help meet the balanced budget set out in the MTFP. This means as a resident or business located within a residents' parking scheme, you will pay an increased cost on your permits.
How is the Council informing permit holders of the changes?
The notices put on lighting columns around the city alerts permit holders to the changes and this is the most efficient way of communicating the changes.
What do I get for my permit?
Regular civil enforcement takes place, promoting parking opportunities for you and your visitors by encouraging compliance with the parking restriction. A dedicated telephone number to report complaints is now available where you can request a patrol visit should a vehicle be parked in contravention of the restriction. The number to call is 07917 233812.
What if I don’t agree?
Unfortunately, there is no opportunity now to object to the price increase as the public consultation on the budget proposals has closed.
