About a charge certificate
If we don’t receive payment or correspondence during the 28 day period after the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) issue date, we may issue a Notice to Owner (NtO).
If we've had no contact or payment after a further 28 day period of the NtO being issued, a Charge Certificate will be issued to the registered vehicle keeper.
The Charge Certificate increases the PCN fee by 50% and provides a 21 day period for payment. If no payment is made within 21 days, we may register the charge as a debt and you may receive contact from our enforcement agents.
How to get more information about your Charge Certificate
If you would like to know why you have received a Charge Certificate or if you are having difficulty accessing your case online, please email revenueprotection@derby.gov.uk and enter 'Charge Certificate' in the email title. You will need to include your DR number and vehicle registration in the email and tell us why you are emailing us:
- You were not aware that you had received a PCN and the Charge Certificate is the first time you have been made aware of it.
- You have appealed your PCN before receiving the Charge Certificate and have not yet received a response.
- You cannot access the online portal as you do not have a web code to enter.
