Nottingham Road

 Derby City Council (Nottingham Road) (Speed) (Amendment to Map Based Schedule) (No. 16) Order 2024

Derby City Council has made this Traffic Regulation Order on 5th February 2026, which comes into effect on 9th February 2026 under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III if schedule 9 to the 1984 Act.

The purpose of this order is to introduce the following restriction:

Revoke 40mph speed limit

  • Nottingham Road, revoke existing 40mph speed limit from its junction with Silverhill Road to its junction with Borrowash Road and will revert back to 30mph due to the presence of street lighting
  • Derby Road, revoke existing 40mph speed limit from its junction with Borrowash Road to the existing 30mph extent outside St. Hugh’s Church and will revert back to 30mph due to the presence of street lighting

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the order on the grounds that it is outside the powers of the acts or because it does not comply with any requirement or regulations made under it, may, within six weeks of the date of the order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
