Energy, food and bills are all increasing and many of us are struggling to keep up.
We've put together lots of useful information and advice on the Community Action Derby website to help with rising costs including:

- debt support
- how to increase your income
- health and wellbeing.
If you can't find what you are looking for on the Community Action Derby website, telephone 01332 346266 between 9.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday or email support@communityactionderby.org.uk.
There's also textphone for those who are deaf or hard of hearing: 07490 341 584. A BSL Signing Service link is also available.

EBSS Alternative Funding
On Monday 27 February the Government opened applications to the EBSS Alternative Funding.
Households who have not yet received their £400 energy bills support may now be eligible to apply via the Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Funding. This includes certain park home residents and partially or wholly self-funded care home residents.
Eligible households will need to complete a short online form on the GOV.UK webpage.
Households without online access or who need support completing their application can contact the government helpline on 08081753287 where a representative will guide them through the application process.
Once an application has been made, The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) will make a series of checks. Once those checks have been completed, the details are then given a final check by Derby City Council to ensure that the resident lives at the address they have provided. If the application is approved, a one-off payment will be made directly to the resident with no need to repay. It may take up to four weeks to process an application so eligible residents are encouraged to apply as soon as they can. The first payments are expected to be made from the 17th April 2023.
