Disabled person reduction

If your home has been adapted and you or someone who lives with you has a disability, you may be able to claim a reduction in Council Tax.

The property must have at least one of the following features:

An additional bathroom or kitchen in the property used by the disabled person.
A room (other than a bathroom, kitchen or toilet) used by and required to meet the needs of the disabled person.
Extra space to use a wheelchair indoors.

If you or someone who lives with you qualifies for the reduction, your Council Tax charge will go down by one property band. This reduction is also applied to band A properties.
