This page is to support childcare providers in Derby city with the FEEE funding offers for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds, making correct claims to the Council, supporting business sustainability and making childcare more affordable for families.

Register to deliver FEEE funding
Are you a childcare provider thinking about offering FEEE funding? Or would you like more information on what this entails? If so, please complete the Notification form to deliver funded places, and return to Earlyyearsfunding@derby.gov.uk
Once we have received your notification form to deliver funded places, we will invite you along to our next termly FEEE briefing session which is held in the evening, 6.30pm to 8pm, delivered online through TEAMS. The FEEE briefing session will explain all the different FEEE offers and criteria, show you how to submit your termly claims to the council and give you the opportunity to ask any questions.

Funding rates
The new FEEE funding rates childcare providers will receive commencing April - summer term 2023 are as follows:
- 2-year-old FEEE will be calculated at a flat rate of £5.68p per hour, per child.
- 3 and 4-year-old FEEE universal and extended hours will be calculated at a base rate of £4.70 per hour per child, and the additional weightings following will also be paid on universal and extended hours:
- if the child lives in a 20% deprived (DEP 20%) postcode area they will receive an extra 60p per hour
- if the child lives in a 20% to 40% deprived (DEP 20% to 40%) postcode area they will receive an extra 20p per hour
- if the child's first language is not English (EAL) they will receive an extra 20p per hour
- If a 3 and 4-year-old child is eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) they will receive an extra 62p per hour on universal hours only.
- If a 3 and 4-year-old child is eligible for Disability Access Funding (DAF) they will receive a one-off payment of £828 each rolling year.
These rates are expected to increase from September 2023 to support the Expanded Childcare Offer (ECO). As soon as the DfE informs the local authority about the new funding rates, we will notify all providers of this.
