Neighbourhoods service

Our Neighbourhood teams work across all neighbourhoods of Derby. The city has been split into five localities, geographically defined, that bring together three or more electoral wards. Each team is made up of a neighbourhood manager, neighbourhood officers and local area coordinators; this group of people make up the core of each neighbourhood team. They work closely with your local councillors, residents, community groups and the many other services that work in your neighbourhood, on a daily basis.

We believe that by working together, we can create a positive and supportive environment where all voices are welcomed and cherished. At the heart of our efforts lies the concept of neighbourhood working - a collaborative approach that emphasises the importance of community engagement and participation.

Neighbourhood Officers work closely with residents and partners in the development of opportunities that build relationships, strengthen assets, and build community capacity. To speak to a Neighbourhood Officer, please contact the person who covers the ward you live in. Local Area Coordination is available to all Derby city residents as they each work within a ward of the city.
