Allestree Neighbourhood Board

Your local Neighbourhood Board is made up of local councillors, residents and representatives from community organisations and public services.

The board:

• leads on behalf of the whole neighbourhood
• agrees the priorities for the neighbourhood
• decides where delegated Council budgets are to be spent
• monitors performance
• influences decisions that reflect the views of local residents
• decides on the vision for your neighbourhood

The Neighbourhood Board has a budget of £10,000 from April 2021. The budget is to enable voluntary and community groups (Non Commercial) to apply for funding to support projects/events, that will both benefit the neighbourhood and its residents. News and events

Local Energy Assessment Fund - successful bid

The Neighbourhood Board was successful in bidding for funding from the Local Energy Assessment Fund. The fund from the Department of Energy and Climate Change was set up to encourage and enable communities to take advantage of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and support mechanisms.

The project aimed to identify energy efficiency opportunities, raise awareness of measures that householders can take to reduce their energy bills and carbon emissions and provide local residents with the skills to be able to advise others on home energy.

As part of the project, a Community Energy Assessment was carried out. The findings of this assessment are available in the Allestree Neighbourhood Board Community Energy Project
