Local Flood Risk Management Strategy

Under the Flood and Water Management Act (2010) we, as the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), are required to develop, maintain, apply and monitor a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.

The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy is a high level strategic document that identifies the sources of flood risk in the city and outlines the responsibilities of the Risk Management Authorities in Derby. The strategy identifies a range of local flood risk management objectives and an action plan by which these objectives can be met by the Council. The strategy then highlights how the success of the objectives can be measured, monitored and reviewed.

The Derby City Council Local Flood Risk Management Strategy Report‌ is a living document that will form the basis of our flood risk management operations.

Accompanying the report is the Derby City Council Local Flood Risk Management Strategy Strategic Environmental Assessment Report

The Strategic Environmental Assessment is required to identify potentially significant environmental effects created as a result of carrying out the action plan contained within the strategy.
