Delivered in partnership with Nottingham City Council, the commercial waste and recycling service supports more than 1,600 businesses across Derby with dependable, landfill-free waste management.  

Every solution is tailored to business needs, and the entire process is dealt with by one team - from setup to reporting - keeping businesses compliant, sustainable, and disruption-free.

• Clarity – the invoices are easy to understand with no hidden charges for excess waste or container rental.  
• Dependability – the service delivery levels regularly achieve over 99% across over 10,000 collections carried out around the East Midlands every week.
• Accountability – As a business, you have a legal duty of care to make sure that any waste you produce is handled safely and within the law. Nottingham City Council holds an ISO9001 Quality Management ISO 18001 for Health and Safety and an ISO14001 Environmental Management standards. They are also externally audited to maintain compliance.

As a Council-run service, there are no shareholders, allowing investment back into local services for local people.

What’s on offer  

• General waste – Cost-effective collections for all business types.
• Recycling – 20–50% cheaper than general waste, helping businesses meet environmental goals.
• Food Waste – Nottingham City Council is not directly running a food waste collection service; however, they are working with a third party to offer this service. Although a different contractor will undertake the collections, all the administration and invoicing can be kept together through the council.
