Support and Accommodation
The Derby City Learning Disabilities and Autism Younger Adult Support Accommodation Strategy 2025-40 describes the current and future accommodation needs for younger adults, aged 18-64, with a learning disability, or autistic people who live in Derby City, and/or who have Care Act 2014 eligible support needs that are the responsibility of Derby City Council, that includes an accommodation-based support need.
Supported Accommodation in this Strategy refers to Care Homes, Supported Living settings, Extra Care and Shared Lives schemes. The focus is on a person’s main home rather than respite accommodation.
The audience for the strategy includes people with a learning disability or autistic people, their families and carers, health, social care, housing and planning partners, and providers.
