Carelink
Carelink is equipment you can carry and have installed at home to make life a little bit easier.
It keeps you in closer contact with loved ones or neighbours, and helps you spot problems before they get worse. Carelink provides equipment which can detect things like gas leaks, falls, and if you’re not active around the home.
If you are injured at home, all you have to do is press an emergency button and you’ll be connected to an operator at our Derby call centre. They’ll have your information and can get you help – by contacting a family member, a friend, or transport to a medical centre.
What services can you provide?
Trained operators will answer your calls, and get the most appropriate help to you. This could be from relatives, neighbours, your GP or emergency services.
Carelink also has a team of responders who can come to your assistance if we can't get in touch with your named contacts.
Our responders can:
- safely lift you if you have fallen, using special equipment
- check on you if there are concerns about your wellbeing
- arrange access for emergency services.
One of our dedicated staff is always available to discuss our services and we can arrange a demonstration for you in your own home.
Who is Carelink for?
Anyone in Derby can get Carelink. It doesn’t matter if you rent or own your home.
Carelink can help if you:
- live alone
- have physical disabilities
- have sensory impairment
- are forgetful or confused
- have learning disabilities
- are at risk of violence or abuse
- are at risk of falling
- are concerned about bogus callers
- have dementia which gets worse at night (called ‘sundowning’).
How much does Carelink cost?
Carelink costs from £6.25 a week. This gets you a pendant alarm and access to the contact centre, depending on the level of service. There is no extra charge for installing the equipment.
