Bin collections

Residents who are due to have brown bins emptied on Friday 22 November should leave these out for collection as normal. If we are unable to empty your brown bin, we will attempt to return next week. For more information, visit our Missed bins page.

Property and land: ownership enquiries

We have owned land since 1554 when we were granted estates by the Royal Charter. Since then we have built up a substantial portfolio of buildings and land.

How do I find out who owns a piece of land or property?

To find out whether Derby City Council owns the land or property, you can contact us.

For land which isn't owned by Derby City Council, visit the Land Registry website or email customersupport@landregistry.gov.uk.
