Blue Badge parking
Blue Badge holders can park for free for up to three hours in designated Disabled Badge Holder parking spaces.
If you are using your Blue Badge to park in a parking bay or on yellow lines, you must display your badge correctly. The badge must be facing upwards with nothing covering the expiry date or serial number. If you have parked in a time-limited bay, you must also display your clock with the correct time of arrival.
You are entitled to free unlimited parking:
- In areas covered by on-street pay and display and limited waiting.
- In areas covered by resident-only parking schemes.
Charges now apply to disabled Blue Badge holders in all Council car parks. Disabled Blue Badge holders can buy a season ticket for Council-operated car parks with a 20% discount.
If you are a Derby city resident and receive the higher rate of the Personal Independence Payment, you are entitled to a free parking permit.
