Mackworth Neighbourhood Board

Your local Neighbourhood Board is made up of local councillors, residents and representatives from community organisations and public services.

The board:

• leads on behalf of the neighbourhood
• agrees the neighbourhood’s priorities
• decides where delegated Council budgets are to be spent
• monitors performance
• influences decisions that reflect the views of residents
• decides on the neighbourhood’s vision

The board has a budget of £10,000 from April 2021. This is so that voluntary and community groups (non-commercial) can apply for funding to support projects and events which will benefit the neighbourhood and its residents.

Mackworth Neighbourhood Forum

Neighbourhood forums take place in the ward if there is an issue that needs a meeting.

Ward walkabouts

Ward walkabouts are an initiative to strengthen community spirit and build safer communities. This involves a high profile and visible control including a litter pick, led by groups including:

• Councillors
• Neighbourhoods
• Public Protection Officers
• Derby Homes
• the Police
• local residents

The idea behind this is to get back to traditional community values of local people looking out for each other and identifying any problems raised in the area.

• Area: Uttoxeter Old Road (from Sims Avenue to Ashbourne Road), Sims Avenue, James Close, South Street, Vernongate, Vernon Street, York Street, Larges Street, Ambrose Terrace and Ponsonby Terrace.

Harlesden Avenue area

• Date: Thursday 21 October 2021
• Time: 1pm to 2pm
• Area: Roehampton Drive, Woodford Road (from Roehampton Drive to Holborn Drive), Holborn Drive, Wimbledon Road (from Holborn Drive to Willesden Avenue), Willesden Avenue, Harlesden Avenue, Vauxhall Avenue and Tufnell Gardens.
• Meet up point: Roehampton Drive junction of Holborn Drive

New Estate

• Date: Thursday 25 November 2021
• Time: 6pm to 7pm
• Area: Merton Drive (from Prince Charles Avenue to Newham Close), Richmond Park Road, Lambeth Close, Abbey Wood Road, Bexley Close, Stockwell Drive Belmont Close and Newham Close.

Wind Mill Hill Lane

• Date: Thursday 3 February 2022
• Time: 1pm to 2pm
• Area: Thurcroft Close, Raleigh Street, Seymour Close, Radbourne Street (from Windmill Hill Lane to Bass Street), Bass Street, St Katherine’s Court, Cooper Street, Windmill Hill Lane.
• Meet up point: Thurcroft Close junction of Radbourne Street.

Muswell Road area

• Date: Thursday 10 March 2022
• Time: 6pm to 7pm
• Area: Muswell Road (from Ludgate Walk to Dulwich Road), Ludgate Walk, Putney Close, Epping Close, Birdcage Walk, Mill Bank Close, Moorgate, Dulwich Road, Mayfair Crescent, Lombard Street, Farringdon Close, Chelsea Close, Highbury Close and Cheam Close.
