Our history and achievements
Each year we identify one issue that is of particular significance to young people in the city such as:
- mental health
- homelessness
- new communities.
This issue is then looked at in detail and at the end of the year the findings and recommendations for improvement and change are presented to senior decision makers.
When do you meet?
We meet once a month on a Monday from 5pm to 7pm.
Meetings usually take place in the Council Chamber at the Council House in Derby or at the Museum of Making.
We sometimes attend extra events such as designing our webpage and creating video content.

How has ViA helped you?
I joined ViA two years ago and it has opened up a lot of opportunities for me so of which I wouldn't have been able to do if I wasn't part of it. In these meetings you get to discuss issues and topics that are important to young people in Derby. For the past two years, I've met some amazing people and learnt a lot about myself so in a way Voices in Action helps some individuals find themselves.
